Sarasota Florida

Sarasota and her Islands blends the cultural amenities of a large city into a tidy small town package. The ballet, opera house, Asolo theater, symphony and a film festival highlight the winter black tie season. While the local Restaurants, Beaches, Golf & Tennis amenities attract thousands, the roots of Sarasota are still clear and strident at the Ringling Museum and Ca de Zan, John Ringling’s bayside residence.

The barrier islands cradle the west coast of Sarasota and share the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets on the bay and gulf. The best of Sarasota’s luxury homes located on Longboat Key, Siesta Key, and Lido Key are exquisite. Rock stars, corporate moguls, world renowned professional athletes and authors call Sarasota home. The luxury waterfront homes on Lido Key, in particular, are examples of how a waterfront community is developed and nurtured by incorporating Meisner style Mediterranean homes with new state of the art contemporary designs hailing back to Twitchell and Rudolph, who fathered the historic Sarasota School of Architecture in the 1950’s.

Just north of Lido Key and connected by a draw bridge is the older and affluent Longboat Key. Exquisite luxury condos stand tall on the white sand beach, some with a view of both the bay and the gulf. Many of the aged homes constructed in the 50’s and 60’s are being replaced by FEMA approved hurricane protected luxury homes on both open bay, canal and open gulf.

Siesta Key is an 8 mile long tropical paradise that although populated by many luxury waterfront homes, still maintains the “old Florida” charm and artist “Funky” look in many of the older neighborhoods. Siesta Key also embraces a waterfront and gated community called the Sanderling Club, a community of private beaches, cabanas, and tennis courts enhance the multi million dollar homes on the gulf, and more affordable properties on the tropical paradise interior properties. Siesta Key’s Beaches are among the most beautiful in the world and Siesta Key’s Crescent Beach is ranked No. 3 in the nation for “The Most Beautiful Beaches in the Nation” by USA Today International Edition and ranked No. 8 by Traveler’s Conde Nast for “The Best of the Best Sand” The sand is 99% quartz and cool to the touch even on the warmest days for those glorious sunset walks in Paradise.

After a day at Turtle or Crescent Beach many of Siesta’s residents turn to Siesta Key Village for it’s Night Life, full of eclectic restaurants and open air bars to enjoy and reflect the days accomplishments at the beach.

Just minutes south of Sarasota lies the waterfront bastion of Casey Key. Luxury houses abound on this barrier island, many with the unique location of frontage on both the bay and the gulf.

Five miles east of the barrier islands are several world class golf courses in gated communities. These courses are surrounded by luxury homes, built to capitalize on the bucolic atmosphere and long views. Sarasota real estate in gated golf course communities is especially attractive to families because of strong neighborhood ties and deed restrictions.
